a novel combinatorial approach to discrete fracture network modeling in heterogeneous media
نویسندگان
چکیده
fractured reservoirs contain about 85 and 90 percent of oil and gas resources respectively in iran. acomprehensive study and investigation of fractures as the main factor affecting fluid flow or perhapsbarrier seems necessary for reservoir development studies. high degrees of heterogeneity andsparseness of data have incapacitated conventional deterministic methods in fracture networkmodeling. recently, simulated annealing (sa) has been applied to generate stochastic realizations ofspatially correlated fracture networks by assuming that the elastic energy of fractures followsboltzmann distribution. although sa honors local variability, the objective function of geometricalfracture modeling is defined for homogeneous conditions. in this study, after the introduction of saand the derivation of the energy function, a novel technique is presented to adjust the model withhighly heterogeneous data for a fractured field from the southwest of iran. to this end, the regularobject-based model is combined with a grid-based technique to cover the heterogeneity of reservoirproperties. the original sa algorithm is also modified by being constrained in different directionsand weighting the energy function to make it appropriate for heterogeneous conditions. thesimulation results of the presented approach are in good agreement with the observed field data.

متن کاملBAHA: A Novel Approach to Automatic Bug Report Assignment with Topic Modeling and Heterogeneous Network Analysis∗
We propose an approach called Bug report assignment with topic modeling and heterogeneous network analysis (BAHA) to automatically assign bug reports to developers. Existing studies adopt social network analysis to characterize the collaboration of developers. The networks used in these studies are all homogenous. In real practice of bug resolution, different developers collaborate on different...
متن کاملa frame semantic approach to the study of translating cultural scripts in salingers franny and zooey
the frame semantic theory is a nascent approach in the area of translation studies which goes beyond the linguistic barriers and helps us to incorporate cognitive and cultural factors to the study of translation. based on rojos analytical model (2002b), which centered in the frames or knowledge structures activated in the text, the present research explores the various translation problems that...
15 صفحه اولfrom linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
15 صفحه اولA Hierarchical Heterogeneous Approach to Diagnosis of Discrete-event Systems a Hierarchical Heterogeneous Approach to Diagnosis of Discrete–event Systems
The paper presents a new approach for model–based diagnosis for hierarchically structured discrete–event systems. The efficiency of this method results from the fact that the complexity of the diagnostic task is reduced by first detecting and identifying a faulty module using a coarse model of the system on a high level of abstraction and subsequently refining the diagnostic results by using a ...
متن کاملA Combinatorial Approach to Discrete Diffusion on a Segment
We find the solution of the partial difference equation u(x, t + 1) = l u(x + 1, t)+ r u(x − 1, t) for x ∈ [1,m] subject to the absorbing boundary conditions at x = 0 and x = m+1. Green’s function will be determined using random walk techniques applying the reflective and inclusion-exclusion principles. AMS subject classification: 39A12, 37H10.
